Delivery Information

Shipping Methods and Pricing:

As of the 2014 upgrade, we added automatic shipping calculations for both local and international sales. You can choose any valid shipping method with either UPS or USPS and the pricing now matches exactly to their rates.

If you are in the US and your order is $100 or over, basic/ground* shipping is FREE ^_^

(*cheapest/safest method chosen; can range from First Class USPS to UPS Ground, to USPS Priority Mail even. For expedited shipping, there will be an additional charge)

US Orders:

Please allow about 1-2 business days for your orders to be shipped. Chucks Anime Shrine is located in New York so depending on the size of the order, the shipping method and your distance from us, it may take about 5-7 business days (or sooner) for your order to arrive. Tracking will be given as well if applicable to the shipping method chosen (sadly, some shipping methods have little or no tracking).

International Orders:

For international orders, sometimes customs will for what ever reason stall orders on the recieving countrys end. When this happens, it may take over a month for the orders to arrive! For the most part, it usually takes about 7-10 business days for your order to arrive. Please also note that there will be no change in the value of your purchase(s) in customs. Also, all purchases are marked as "Merchandise". Sorry but due to legal rules, we can not mark them as GIFT. Please take this into notice before purchasing.

We have no control over a countrys independant decision to charge customs fees. We hate them and they have no place in this global economy but we have no way to fight them :-( Even if we were to undervalue and mark as GIFT, customs can still decide to charge these heinous fees.

If you have any questions about an international order or if you do not get a rate for your country, email us at [email protected]

FAQs:

(Q): Are your anime figures/products bootlegs?

(A): ALL our items we sell are the real deal.

We have and will NEVER sell bootlegs...

(still can not convince all people this unfortunatly no how many times we state this :-( )

Bootleg and fake figures are a major problem in this industry. On sites like eBay or even other online and retail stores, you might find that the figures are actually rip-offs; cheap imitations created in China...particularly Hong Kong. Please note though that even the real figures are made in China but of course there are ways to tell the real from the fake.

As fans of anime for many years and victims of the fake figure market in the past, we completely shun any fake wholesaler from dealing with our store. Chucks Anime Shrine is a completely legal business in the state of New York and with the steps we took to be a legit business, we were able to gain the needed partnerships with the official distributors in the industry. We are obtain our items from the distribution centers like AAAanime.com, UltraTokyoConnection, Yesanime.com, Diamond Comics and Mile-stone.jp. All of whom are where every legit store gets their products from. If the anime store you have shopped from in the past does not get their items from these wholesalers....chances are they are not selling the real thing.

At any time, any figure that we have in stock (not a pre-order since they are not on hand), we will gladly show a photo of the box showing the needed details to prove their authenticity.

To fight the fake figure industry report any fake figure-selling store to the wholesalers above or, better yet, to the manufacturer websites so they know who to black list. As for non-legit eBay sellers.

Report any that you know are selling fakes staight to eBay. Also, any anime store selling pre-order sales on eBay that do not arrive in a 30 day span of time, are not allowed on eBay as well (but is sadly done by fake or despirate sellers...a lot). Many sellers on eBay will post a pre-order item the day of announcement with the figures not to be released for another 4+ months!. This is a violation the eBay pre-sales rule, and a perfect way to help drop illegal sellers off the list.

(Q): [X] anime store got [Y] pre-order in already, why has not the item arrived yet?

(A): Most of the time, stores in the US unfortunatly get new anime figures up to a month or even more AFTER a store in Japan might recieve them. This has been something we wish to close a gap on but here is the answers to this straight from Good Smile Company and our wholealers.

  1. Geographic delay: Anime figures (even the real ones) are made in bulk in China first and then get shipped out (by boat in most cases) to their wholesale destinations across the world. Since the US is geographically further from China than Japan is...there will be a delay. Also, being that we are located in New York and the first arrival of (legit) figures is to California, it could take an extra 5-7 buisness days before they arrive to the US east coast :-/
  2. Licencing Delay: This is a delay we feel should not exist but we have really no say in it, even as an offical anime retailer and GSC partner store. Sometimes, the company(s) that licence the various anime and series represented by these products, will not allow certain regions to recieve/sell certain products before a certain time. A good example of this were the Nendoroid K-ON figures a few years back. Retailers in the states were told they could only sell 6 of each figure an no more. In addition to that, some figures were not allowed to be sold outside Japan at all (unless, they are bought at an even higher price from other Japan retail stores: ie: Snow Miku figures)
  3. Manufacturer Delay: Sometimes an item is set to ship out of the factory at a certain date but be it mass defects/quality control, weather or other unknown issues, the manufactuer might tell everyone in the distrubution line, from wholesalers and us retailers that the figures will not be out on time. Some manufacturer delays can last months but over the years, they have gotten less frequent. Most of the delays are due to licencing hurtles and geographic delay.
  4. Bootleg Advance: Sometimes a store might say they got a popular item in stock early...but be careful, that might mean they got bootlegs in instead. When a manufactuer delay happens for the real items, sometimes that gives the Bootleg industry a head start and stores who stock bootlegs will claim they have an item in stock when in fact it is just a cheap trick.

We are collectors too so hearing that so-and-so anime store got a pre-order in before us is disheartening and we try to get them as soon as possible. As we continue to be a force in this industry since our start as a general anime site in 2002, to the store addition in 2007, we will do what we can to shorten this gap that happens particularly to locations outside Japan or even outside California. We apologize for any delay but any of the people who have shopped with us know that we will bend over backwards to make sure you get what you ordered.

(Q): What is that timer next to some of the Pre-order items?

(A): That is a new feature we added where you know how long until even we can not reserve said figure for pre-order. What this does is give us the ability to list MANY more preorder items than we did in the past which were based soley on our budget and exact figures we already had scheduled to come in. The issue with that is that we do not want to have a preorder up that we sold out of or we end up not getting. Items that are not sold out and past their preorder deadline but we know we will have extra of, we remove this timer. So...reserve them when you can. After that timer goes out, if we have no extra to give, the listing automatically removes iteself ^^
