Shipping & Returns

Shipping Methods and Pricing:

As of the 2014 upgrade, we added automatic shipping calculations for both local and international sales. You can choose any valid shipping method with either UPS or USPS and the pricing now matches exactly to their rates.

If you are in the US and your order is $100 or over, basic/ground* shipping is FREE ^_^

(*cheapest/safest method chosen; can range from First Class USPS to UPS Ground, to USPS Priority Mail even. For expedited shipping, there will be an additional charge)

US Orders:

Please allow about 1-2 business days for your orders to be shipped. Chucks Anime Shrine is located in New York so depending on the size of the order, the shipping method and your distance from us, it may take about 5-7 business days (or sooner) for your order to arrive. Tracking will be given as well if applicable to the shipping method chosen (sadly, some shipping methods have little or no tracking).

International Orders:

For international orders, sometimes customs will for what ever reason stall orders on the recieving countrys end. When this happens, it may take over a month for the orders to arrive! For the most part, it usually takes about 7-10 business days for your order to arrive. Please also note that there will be no change in the value of your purchase(s) in customs. Also, all purchases are marked as "Merchandise". Sorry but due to legal rules, we can not mark them as GIFT. Please take this into notice before purchasing.

We have no control over a countrys independant decision to charge customs fees. We hate them and they have no place in this global economy but we have no way to fight them :-( Even if we were to undervalue and mark as GIFT, customs can still decide to charge these heinous fees.

If you have any questions about an international order or if you do not get a rate for your country, email us at [email protected]

Payment Methods Accepted:

-Check or Money order

(Direct Credit Card Payments can be done via Paypal)

...

If you are at any time concerned for you purchasing safely, you may email us at [email protected] to complete your purchase safely with an external Paypal Money Request (or possibly another safe method once available)

.

Refund Policy:

How many days do I have to request a refund?

We give you 15 days after your order to send back your order or part of your order for which ever reason.

Why is the refund policy only 15 days? Many businesses are 30 days or more.

Most of the products we sell are figurines with, in many cases, non movable parts. They are the kinds of products that you order, make sure the Post Office or UPS did not kick them around too much, leave in the box for collectability-sake or add to your display; nothing more beyond that.

This window is long enough for those who recieve their items while on vacation and do not have the chance to inspect for an initial issue that occured while in transit.

The 15 day timeframe is also short enough to discourage a practice done by a very small minority of buyers who order these collectables in bulk only for the purpose of flipping the sometimes rare items for a profit and then return them all if they fail to sell. Unlike retailers and manufactuers in other industries, we have no problem in seeing products bought be resold on ebay, amazon etc...that is the natue of a marketplace and in our opinions, it is anti-internet market to restrict such practices. The issue is when those who buy in bulk do not take responsibility of the risks involved with reselling collectables and simply abuse return policies ^^;; Because many of the items we sell are rare and usually only have one release period, we want to make sure every person who wants these awesome items can order them at or around their intended SRP.

We do not discourage bulk orders though, so if you wish to order a batch at a possible discount, you can email us at [email protected]

FAQs:

(Q): Are your anime figures/products bootlegs?

(A): ALL our items we sell are the real deal.

We have and will NEVER sell bootlegs...

(still can not convince all people this unfortunatly no how many times we state this :-( )

Bootleg and fake figures are a major problem in this industry. On sites like eBay or even other online and retail stores, you might find that the figures are actually rip-offs; cheap imitations created in China...particularly Hong Kong. Please note though that even the real figures are made in China but of course there are ways to tell the real from the fake.

As fans of anime for many years and victims of the fake figure market in the past, we completely shun any fake wholesaler from dealing with our store. Chucks Anime Shrine is a completely legal business in the state of New York and with the steps we took to be a legit business, we were able to gain the needed partnerships with the official distributors in the industry. We are obtain our items from the distribution centers like AAAanime.com, UltraTokyoConnection, Yesanime.com, Diamond Comics and Mile-stone.jp. All of whom are where every legit store gets their products from. If the anime store you have shopped from in the past does not get their items from these wholesalers....chances are they are not selling the real thing.

At any time, any figure that we have in stock (not a pre-order since they are not on hand), we will gladly show a photo of the box showing the needed details to prove their authenticity.

To fight the fake figure industry report any fake figure-selling store to the wholesalers above or, better yet, to the manufacturer websites so they know who to black list. As for non-legit eBay sellers.

Report any that you know are selling fakes staight to eBay. Also, any anime store selling pre-order sales on eBay that do not arrive in a 30 day span of time, are not allowed on eBay as well (but is sadly done by fake or despirate sellers...a lot). Many sellers on eBay will post a pre-order item the day of announcement with the figures not to be released for another 4+ months!. This is a violation the eBay pre-sales rule, and a perfect way to help drop illegal sellers off the list.

(Q): [X] anime store got [Y] pre-order in already, why has not the item arrived yet?

(A): Most of the time, stores in the US unfortunatly get new anime figures up to a month or even more AFTER a store in Japan might recieve them. This has been something we wish to close a gap on but here is the answers to this straight from Good Smile Company and our wholealers.

  1. Geographic delay: Anime figures (even the real ones) are made in bulk in China first and then get shipped out (by boat in most cases) to their wholesale destinations across the world. Since the US is geographically further from China than Japan is...there will be a delay. Also, being that we are located in New York and the first arrival of (legit) figures is to California, it could take an extra 5-7 buisness days before they arrive to the US east coast :-/
  2. Licencing Delay: This is a delay we feel should not exist but we have really no say in it, even as an offical anime retailer and GSC partner store. Sometimes, the company(s) that licence the various anime and series represented by these products, will not allow certain regions to recieve/sell certain products before a certain time. A good example of this were the Nendoroid K-ON figures a few years back. Retailers in the states were told they could only sell 6 of each figure an no more. In addition to that, some figures were not allowed to be sold outside Japan at all (unless, they are bought at an even higher price from other Japan retail stores: ie: Snow Miku figures)
  3. Manufacturer Delay: Sometimes an item is set to ship out of the factory at a certain date but be it mass defects/quality control, weather or other unknown issues, the manufactuer might tell everyone in the distrubution line, from wholesalers and us retailers that the figures will not be out on time. Some manufacturer delays can last months but over the years, they have gotten less frequent. Most of the delays are due to licencing hurtles and geographic delay.
  4. Bootleg Advance: Sometimes a store might say they got a popular item in stock early...but be careful, that might mean they got bootlegs in instead. When a manufactuer delay happens for the real items, sometimes that gives the Bootleg industry a head start and stores who stock bootlegs will claim they have an item in stock when in fact it is just a cheap trick.

We are collectors too so hearing that so-and-so anime store got a pre-order in before us is disheartening and we try to get them as soon as possible. As we continue to be a force in this industry since our start as a general anime site in 2002, to the store addition in 2007, we will do what we can to shorten this gap that happens particularly to locations outside Japan or even outside California. We apologize for any delay but any of the people who have shopped with us know that we will bend over backwards to make sure you get what you ordered.

Pre-Order Payment FAQ:

Please also note that there are times that the exact date of a Pre-order arrival may change due to unforeseen events outside of our control; usually due to manufacturer delays ad the fact that official US retailers do get items in about month or so later than stores in Japan do :-/

FAQ & INFO:

  • (Q): I can buy anime products with Bitcoin?
  • (A): Yep ^-^ Due to Google dropping their Google Checkout service for retailers and the fact that we fully support the cryptocurrency movement; adding Bitcoin as an optional service was a no brainer. Thanks to the help of the Bitpay service, we can provide a fast, safe and accurate-to- the-present-time-BTC-value service.
  • (Q): What is Bitcoin?
  • (A): "Bitcoin is the first form of decentralized (meaning it is not controlled by any organization or government) digital currency that can be exchanged from peer to peer for goods and services. Bitcoins are designed around the idea of using cryptography to control the creation and transfer of money, rather than relying on central authorities.

There is a limited number of Bitcoins in circulation and new Bitcoins are created at a predictable and decreasing rate. A fixed number of Bitcoins means they are a commodity whose worth is determined by supply and demand (similar to stocks)."

  • (Q): Why is there a timer for my Bitpay transaction?
  • (A): The value of Bitcoin, like a stock, can change value, sometimes drastically, on any given day. This timer is to help protect your transaction value at the time of purchase.

Our Policies In Regards to Bitcoin:

  • Due to the nature of Bitcoin transactions, all orders in Bitcoin are final the transaction cannot be reversed.
  • Bitcoin is communicated in US dollars (unless Bitpay now or in the future gives you the option to compare to other currencies)
  • Bitcoin value, again like a stock, can change. Not too long ago we saw the US dollar do this vs. the Japanese Yen and anime figures almost doubled in price from 2009-2012. This is not something new in currencies, be it the newer cryptocurrencies or fiat. So, if you do buy with Bitcoin, it might be better to only buy in-stock items as oppose to pre-order items. Any Bitcoin return/refund will match the US dollar value vs the Bitcoin currency at the time of the refund. In other words, if you paid early for say a $100 pre-order anime figure in Bitcoin, which as of this date is an item worth about .23 BTC, and you wanted to cancel it some time later on before release.. your refund will equal what $100 in Bitcoin is worth for that later time.

Any confusion, concerns, etc about how we handle Bitcoin, visit Bitpay.com or email us at [email protected]
